Alamo? Ako diko alam. kaya wag nyo ako tanungin kung ano yan. Basta alam ko may giyera tas binigay ung texas sa kung sino tapos ganun lang. may pelikula pa ata yan. Basta nung nakita naming may pila eh nakipila na din kami. ewan.

Sobrang antok na ako kaya yan lang nakaya kong ilagay ngayon. siguro kung kuwentahin ung dalawang araw na nilakbay (naks, nilakbay) namin e umabot na kami sa buwan. buti na lang ang ganda ng daan. bah, nakakapagod din umupo at tumingin sa disyerto ah! o sya, tulog na ako at aga pa kami gigising bukas. sana konti na lang disyerto. sana may malaking cactus para papichure ako dun.

Road Trip with DORA

In a few hours we are going on a road trip from Texas to San Franciso and back. YAHOOO!!

There will be 5 of us in the car- S, J, C, baby dani, and me. To keep the baby in good spirits throughout the trip, we will be watching hours and hours of "Dora the Explorer". She's a Dora addict, i tell you. She's memorized the dvds but still they never fail to mesmerize her. i bought her a dora doll from divisoria worth P50 and she loves it. i also bought her Dora panties and a Dora pin, and she loves me. hehehe.

Merry Christmas

This is the complete tree. We chose an angel with Filipino features for our tree-topper. the $200 tree as we call it. the tree, garlands, and angel were bought at Walmart while the balls and everything else from Ikea in Houston. The lone stocking which dani positioned at the lower right is from a Christmas party somewhere.

It's Christmas. Last year, i spent it at home alone. This year i'm celebrating it away from home with some family. Where i'll be next year, who knows?

I hope adulthood hasn't killed the spirit of Christmas in you.

Yung Eksam Ko

Voice Over: "Examinees, you may now begin your first patient encounter"

Read your examinee instruction sheet and enter the room where your patient (standardized actor) is waiting. you have 15 minutes to do a complete history and physical exam, explain things to the patient and answer his questions.

Voice Over: "This patient encounter is over. You must now leave the room."

then you are given 10 minutes to do your patient notes, afterwhich you transfer to the next door and wait for the announcement to begin the next encounter. 12 patients all in all.

as usual, everything is videotaped, and the rooms are equipped with one-way mirrors. (syempre ngumingiti ako sa mirror, baka makuha sila sa ngiti, parang tanga)

bago magsimula yung eksam, tinitignan ko ung mga co-examinees ko..bumbay, bumbay, bumbay, puti, kastila, puti, puti, bumbay...ay, ako pala un, tapos dalwang pinoy pa. tae, lahat naman sila laking amerika. daldal ng mga bumbay. daldal talga. ingay ingay.

In Heat

Sobrang ginaw dito ha!! 4 degrees celsius kahapon at ngayon maginaw pa din. tatlong araw na ako nag-aantay malaglag mga tenga at daliri ko. konti na lang.

kaninang hapon, kumatok ung kapitbahay namin na itim.


itim: "hi, may i use your phone?"

meztizo (ako yan, walang kokontra): "sure, come on in. It's right there on the counter."

itim: "it's cold in here."

meztizo: "yea, we finally decided to buy a heater tonite when we go out."

itim: "why don't you use the apartment's heater?"

Parang Dada

I was reading Bate's Guide to History Taking and Physical Examination when my 2 year old niece sat beside me and started looking at the pictures.




me: ano to baby?
dani: paa!
me: very good! eto, ano to?
dani: kamay!
me: very good!

I flipped through the pages until we reached the topic on genital examination.

dani: ano yan tito?
me: uhmmmm.....(sasabihin ko ba?)...ummm....etits! etits yan baby.
dani: etits?
me: penis. ang tawag dyan ay penis or etits.
dani: *smiles* parang Dada. (referring to her daddy)
